Voter Registration
The County administers state and federal election laws at the local level. The County Commissioners, as the Board of Elections and the Registration Commission, determine matters of policy and delegate the administration of the election process to the Registrar. In order to vote in Bedford County a voter must be a resident of the county and may register in person at the Commissioners Office located at 211 South Juliana Street, Bedford, or by mail, or at a number of state agencies including the PennDOT Drivers License Bureau. Voter registration applications are also available at most local post offices or you may request a Pennsylvania Voter Registration Mail Application by e-mail: pkoenig@bedfordcountypa.org. Bedford County is a 6th Class County. We have 42 voting precincts. Voter registration is approximately 28,000.
The county operates with a central tabulation system with optical scan voting, paper ballots.
