Bedford County Property Revaluation

Message from the Chief Assessor:

Welcome to the Bedford County Property Revaluation web page. Bedford County is currently conducting their first countywide property revaluation since 1957.  We encourage you to take a few minutes to explore the website and learn about the revaluation process and how it will affect you.

Melissa Stultz, CPE

Bedford County has contracted with the Tyler Technologies’ CLT Division to conduct a countywide revaluation to correct unfair property assessments. Both the County and CLT are committed to conducting this project in a fair and equitable way.

The last time Bedford County updated assessments, Eisenhower was president!  With such an out-of-date system, it is possible for property owners with similar houses to pay different amounts of property tax.

Bedford's property revaluation project began in December 2007 and will be finalized for the 2010 tax year. During the project, all of Bedford County’s 36,500 residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural properties will be revalued by CLT’s team of trained appraisal professionals.
